Roots Rum Shack & Kitchen is an Afro-Caribbean restaurant and bar at 206 Newland Avenue in Hull. The menu features slow-cooked goat curry, jerk belly pork and Santiago chicken, alongside a bar with more than 50 rums and cocktails such as the Flamin' Zombie. By day it's a relaxed spot for lunch or a family meal, with mid-week lunch deals, and on Friday and Saturday nights it becomes a nightlife venue with live local DJs and reggae. It says it is Hull's first Afro-Caribbean restaurant and bar.
